In History, we have been studying the Indian Mutiny / War of Independence of 1857, and the horrors committed by both sides. Year 7 were tasked to produce a chocolate bar wrapper in the style of the propaganda that the British used to produce to glorify their victories in the Empire.

Our pupils needed to try and get into the minds of propaganda generating media gurus and to portray some event from the Indian Mutiny. And they produced some outstanding ideas: Dark Durbas, Empress Extreme to name but a few. Two boys took it to the next level and not only made their own chocolate bar cover in a Victorian style, but one made his own chocolate mould in Design and Technology and made the actual chocolate with DairyMilk and Crunchie! He named it Cracking Cannon, after the punishments that the British used against the mutineers.
