At the end of August, our Headmaster Jonathan Perry will join with 20 other Prep School Heads to undertake a ‘Dawn to Dusk’ challenge in Pembrokeshire, to raise money for Place2Be – a children’s mental health charity that works to improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people.
The challenge itself, will include a 5 hour coastal kayaking trek, a 50 mile bike ride, and a 12 mile walk/run to finish, which Jonathan has already started training in earnest for. We, at Lambrook, will be putting him through his paces over the next few weeks as there is a lot of pressure for Jonathan to finish first (or indeed finish!).
The charity Place2Be prioritises mental health support, helping children to cope with wide-ranging and often complex social issues including bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma. Children are less likely to suffer from serious mental health difficulties in later life if they receive adequate support at an early age. We are proud of the provision on offer to our children at Lambrook, but know that this is not the case in many schools and homes across the UK; your generosity will really make the difference to those who cannot readily access mental health support.

The challenge has been generously sponsored by Featherstone Partners, an investment management firm that offers tax-efficient school fee planning advice.
