In partnership with the Engineering Development Trust (EDT), this week Lambrook held a STEM workshop for local Year 7 students from Kings International College, St Edward’s Royal Free School, Heathfield, Kings Academy and Lambrook.
STEM, stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths and the day consisted of three problem solving activities relating to these fields. The students worked in teams to apply their knowledge and devise practical solutions to problems. Across the day they had to make a marble roller coaster, design a satellite and create and trebuchet.
All the teams worked very well and showed excellent creativity, resilience and team work. It was great to see so many students enthusiastic about STEM; all subjects that will be vital in whatever career path they take.
