Our Big Dance Show was the last performance our children were able to take part in before lock down, with an appreciative audience made up of the rest of the pupils at the school, in place of parents.
It seems many of those audience members and performers were inspired by watching or taking part in the show, as our recent Choreography Competition has shown. We have received a huge number of entries and some really fantastic performances. Below are just a few screen shots from some of the performances we have been sent.
Miss Lister and the Performing Arts Department have been so impressed with the standard of entries and, with such a wide variety of styles and techniques and entries from year groups across the school, they had an incredibly difficult job judging. As Miss Lister says,
I was overwhelmed and delighted by the fantastic response we had for the first Lambrook Choreography Competition. I was most touched by the way the children used this opportunity to express their emotion, during these difficult times. It was amazing to watch the children come alive whilst performing their own expressive work!
Finally, they were able to come to a decision. The winner of Lambrook’s first Choreography Competition and huge congratulations goes to a Year 5 student who put an incredible amount of thought and emotion into his choreography and performance. You can see his wonderful choreography piece below by clicking on the photograph.
As the standard of entries was so high, Miss Lister also wanted to highlight the following pupils’ superb performances and thoughtful choreography.
