Of course, we expect our children to work hard and to give their best, but it is also essential that they strike an appropriate balance between work and play, and that they take the time out to enjoy the plethora of activities offered outside of lessons here at Lambrook. Whether flipping pancakes in the Boarding House, rehearsing a play, looking after our animals in the Orchard, creating at D&T Club, raising money for their House charities, or simply having special times with friends, these offer our children plenty of opportunities to gain broader perspective of what is truly important in life. We weave a strong sense of balance into everyday life here at Lambrook, we strive to have happy and secure children who thrive, both in and outside the classroom.

Our Year 8 pupils completed their Common Entrance Examinations today, having worked incredibly hard during the week and of course, during their time here at the School.

They were treated to ice cream and some time to relax outside!

Year 8 Scholars have had such a fantastic programme over the past few weeks and presented to their parents, the Headmaster and staff on Thursday evening. Sharing their experiences from helping at Windsor Foodshare to exploring the History of Bath, from researching Old Lambrookians to Art Projects, they engaged their audience from start to finish!

Pupils ‘had a ball’ in their Performing Arts lessons as they learnt to conduct to a piece of classical music using a tennis ball before translating it to the glockenspiel and expressed words through physical theatre

The children at Lambrook are hugely fortunate to have such free access to the outdoors and this week has been no exception. Pupils have been using their time outside the classroom to capture their curiosity and allowing their passions to grow for the environment that they live in.

On Monday afternoon, pupils were keen to get stuck into a new programme of Enrichment Activities. With Croquet, rounders, tennis, athletics, D&T, sketching, gardening and looking after our animals, to name but a few, there was definitely something for everyone!

From regular cricket training and fixtures to special Cricket Festivals and Competitions, pupils from Pre Prep to Year 8 enjoy every opportunity to play.

Mealtimes at Lambrook are a highlight for all and there was a buzz from our Dining Room and Croquet Lawn, with lots of conversation to be had!

The Boarders had a happy Thursday evening of supper, revision, games, swimming and cricket.

Showing kindness to each other is incredibly important and an attribute that we champion here at Lambrook. It was lovely to see the children looking out for, and playing with one another this week, encouraging each other to get the balance right!
