We are fast approaching one of my favourite times of year here at Lambrook, with much to look forward to over the coming weeks.
There is already an air of anticipation and excitement around the school as the children have been very busy practising their lines for Advent and Christingle Services, rehearsing songs and musical pieces for concerts galore, writing cards for our elderly neighbours and collecting Christmas items for our chosen charity. I can however, see less excitement and more mild panic behind the eyes of the parents that I speak to, as they realise how much they have to fit in over the next month!
I am so very grateful for all that you as parents do for Lambrook, especially at this time of year and in all of its many forms; volunteering for the Christmas Fair, encouraging your child to enter the star competition, providing items for the tombola, attending our Christmas services, as well as ensuring that your child is in the right place at the right time, and wearing the right outfit! This, of course, goes beyond Christmas with the many ways in which the Lambrook parent body supports the school so generously and practically to enable this happy and vibrant community to flourish all the more.
There has been a flurry of activity in the DJC today as our wonderful LPTC set up for the Christmas Fair. As well as being a fantastic community event, it is also a wonderful opportunity to raise money for our charity, First Days, and for those who would normally not look forward to Christmas in the same way that we might do. I shall look forward to seeing some of you, and of course, Father Christmas, there tomorrow afternoon.
