It has been wonderful to have had a really enriching week at Lambrook, and since last Saturday, our pupils have been able to pack a lot in! With a co-curricular Roman Day, our Year Group choirs rehearsing new pieces already, musical performance practice for the Lower School, Scholarship tests for our Senior pupils as well as embracing a new half term of exciting activities such as footgolf, fishing, kite building, tennis, and outdoor chess on the Croquet Lawn, there has been something to inspire everyone.

The Prep School has managed to fit in in three fantastic afternoons of cricket fixtures, with the Year 3 Girls impressing all in their first ever cricket games this afternoon. The weather was kinder today than on Wednesday when it felt much more like a typical British Summer! However, in true Lambrook style, rain did not stop play as the children (and most definitely staff!) were not going to give up an opportunity for a match, and so continued on for a full afternoon; diving for a ball on the boundary or skidding to take a wicket, the Laundry Team certainly had their work cut out the next day, trying to remove the grass stains!

And the buzz and noise of children in the grounds has not just been contained to the daytime. It is no surprise that the take up for our Boarding has been more popular than ever this term, as the children are keen to further expand their day at Lambrook and make the most of the fabulous facilities. It is rather idyllic to have the space and freedom to play with friends, to have a round of golf, to look after the vegetables growing in our Orchard, to catch up with some work, or to just simply be; with over 90% of our pupils going on to board at their future senior school, boarding at Lambrook is the perfect opportunity to prepare and to gain some of the skills ready for the next stage of their academic journey, whilst in an encouraging and nurturing environment. We look forward to many more balmy summer Boarding evenings as the term continues.

I do hope that you enjoy the extended weekend and I very much look forward to seeing your children on Tuesday morning for another exciting week at Lambrook.
