We are already in the throws of one of my favourite weeks of the year, Arts Week. This period is a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to showcase their musical creativity, talents, courage and team work in so many different areas. Already this week, we have been treated to a spectacular ‘Big Dance Show’, the Elementary Singing Competition and the House Instrumental Competition and there is much more to look forward to: tonight Year 1 take centre stage in the DJC with their performance of ‘Whiz Wham Alakazam’. Next week, the musical delights continue with the House Singing Competition and, of course, a chance for you to witness the Prep community coming together to sing and play at our Lent Concert on Wednesday. The children really do make the Sports Hall come alive with their musicianship and camaraderie and, as I mentioned in a previous article, equally as spectacular as The Greatest Showman!
It is really special when the Lambrook community comes together, and we had great fun as a Prep School on Tuesday, as the children took part in the Macmillan Run. Seeing a sea of green racing across the school grounds was a sight to behold. This mass of happy faces worked together, trekking over a rather wet and muddy course, towards the reward of cake, all to raise money for an extremely worthy cause.
In between all of these excitements, there has been a great deal of work done in classrooms and on the sports field. Sports teams have represented Lambrook, competing in the IAPS Netball and Hockey finals, lacrosse tournaments and football fixtures. Whatever the sport, concert, play or activity, our Lambrookians certainly are multi-talented!
I look forward to celebrating with your children over these next few days, and very much look forward to seeing you on Wednesday afternoon.
