Well done to our Headmaster Jonathan Perry for completing the Dawn to Dusk Challenge in the Welsh countryside at the end of August!

Mr Perry, along with 21 other Prep School Head teachers joined together to complete a 60 mile challenge including a 5 hour coastal kayaking trek, a 50 mile bike ride, and a 12 mile walk/run to finish, all to raise money for the leading children’s mental health charity Place2Be. Mr Perry has already raised a massive £8,440 and collectively, the Heads have raised over £85,000.

“Thank you so much for all of your support with my recent ‘Heads Up Challenge’. It was an exhausting but hugely enjoyable experience, and I have been quite overwhelmed by your generosity in your giving of time, advice and financial support to such a worthy cause. The event was a very healthy reminder to all the Heads involved of the expectations we often put upon our pupils on such expeditions and it may well be that we will be slightly more understanding of their occasional moans when things become tougher than perhaps one had imagined!” Jonathan Perry

The charity Place2Be prioritises mental health support, helping children to cope with wide-ranging and often complex social issues including bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma. Children are less likely to suffer from serious mental health difficulties in later life if they receive adequate support at an early age. We are proud of the provision on offer to our children at Lambrook but know that this is not the case in many schools and homes across the UK; thanks to your generosity Place2Be can make a real difference to those who cannot readily access mental health support.  More information can be found here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/lambrookheadsupchallenge
