Summer is well and truly here and our Lambrook pupils have thrown themselves into another busy and exciting week. Here are just a few of our highlights:

The DJC was full of music on Monday as children from Reception to Year 4 were invited to ‘Come and Try the Violin’. They listened to the instrument being played before enthusiastically volunteering to have a go themselves

The DJC was also home to our Year 8s who were sitting their Common Entrance Exams. They made sure that they took a break outside in between exams.

Where possible, lessons have taken place outside – including a drama lesson with Year 5.

Lunchtime on Tuesday was a real hit as friends sat down together to enjoy a delicious BBQ and of course, a cooling ice lolly for pudding!

The fish caught in Monday’s fishing activity escaped the BBQ and were put back in the water!

Resisting the temptation to douse themselves in water on a warm afternoon, Year 5 instead, learnt about water filtration in science.

In their RS lesson Year 5 pupils re created a Hindu Temple Mandir in their classroom complete with shoe rack, washing station, petals and fruit offerings.

Temperatures were set high in the Pre Prep ovens as Year 1 made some jam puffs for Little Red Riding Hood’s Grandmother and a get well soon card!

Using an array of props, the Year 2 children took part in an interactive French concert involving some very catchy songs!

With sports day around the corner, there has been much excitement for our House preliminary tug of war rounds.

House meetings took place outside – it was great to be together as Houses, and our grounds allowed us to be socially distanced in our Year Groups!

Our Boarders enjoyed every last drop of sunshine in our grounds – a stunning sunset to end a fantastic week.
