It has been very much about celebrating this week at Lambrook.

Saturday saw our Prep School Sports Day. We were fortunate to have some wonderful weather in which our children jumped, threw, tugged and ran, showing some great displays of teamwork and sportsmanship. Although an extremely close competition, it was Dewar who came out as House winners.

With the hotly fought-for House shield in sight, pupils raced up and down the lanes in the swimming pool, keen to gain as many points as possible for their houses.

Pupils from Years 5 – 7 spent 3 separate days outside in the Lambrook Grounds teambuilding with Oppidan. The children took part in action-packed days full of activities including, a Zorb Zone, a Bangers and Mash assault course, a Lambrook Dragons Den, a ‘thinking outside of the box’ challenge and ‘A Great Lambrook Escape.’ The children then finished their day with their very own ‘Hunger Games’ and satisfied their hunger with a delicious BBQ.

Year 8 has packed a lot into their final ever week at Prep School. With talks, sports challenges, quizzes, Leavers’ Chapel Services, dinners and a trip to the seaside, they will be ready for a rest next week!

Reception had a fantastic day out a nearby Wellington Country Park.

As part of their Happiness Festival, children in the Pre Prep were tasked with creating a costume or item of clothing out of a bin bag and recycled materials. Here are some highlights from our fashion show:

After using the NASA website to research and produce a fact-sheet poster, Year 3 decided to explore the solar system further by re creating it outside.

Our Boarders were delighted to have an exciting supper with some rather delicious food, as part of a special Mexican themed evening. Finished off with an ‘ice cream factory’ style pudding, it was a great way to celebrate the last week of boarding.

The Girl Boarders celebrated Gappie Miss Andrews and her time helping with the Boarding House this term.

Keen to see what Boarding life was like, some of our Year 4 boys who had never tried boarding before, spent a special morning getting to know house parents Mr and Mrs Bowden, asking lots of questions, and enjoying a sneaky game of table tennis too!

Cooking up a storm in their last Activities session of the term, the children were awarded Star Baker status. Their parents were certainly in for a treat when they got home!
