In addition to their academic music lessons, 85% of our pupils at Lambrook receive peripatetic Music and LAMDA lessons. This week our DJC (Performing Arts Centre) has been a hive of activity, as our children have enthusiastically been getting back into their lessons.
During lockdown, our talented musical and theatrical pupils were not deterred by physical distance and, with the extended period at home, pupils rehearsed and then gave some extraordinary online performances. Musically, we had live Zoom concerts for all of the family, solo performances, choir collaborations, online gigs, ensemble, whole school sing-a long’s and orchestra performances, as well as virtual performances to Ascot Priory for International Nurses Day. On the virtual stage we had Year 8 performing an entire radio version of ‘Around the World in 80 Days’, choreography competitions, Shakespeare readings, puppet shows and Mr Perry even stepped up to the stage for an exclusive performance for our annual Speech Day!
