Today is your day
You’re off to great Places
Your off and away
You have brains in your head
You have feet in your shoes
Your mountain is waiting so get on your way.
As we reach the end of the term, I have taken the opportunity to pause for breath and reflect upon the last year. It has been a wonderful year and an absolute pleasure to get to know your children and watch as their creativity and talents have been nurtured by dedicated teachers. They are curious and have a desire to learn. They have shown courage and bravery when things have been new or challenging. They have become responsible and increasingly independent and I have been delighted to witness so many genuine acts of kindness and respect.
Today’s Prize Day was a glorious celebration of all the children’s successes this year. Whilst not every child received an award, they have all made huge progress, whether that be in the classroom, swimming pool, sports field, music room or participating in an after school activity. Each child has strived to do their best, they have all made progress, and they should all be proud.
I spoke today about the importance of growth mindset and having an “I can do it attitude”. Throughout the year I have witnessed how the children have started to value their mistakes, learn from one another and persevere even when things are difficult. As your child moves to the next stage of their education, I hope that they will continue to enjoy climbing their ‘mountain’, knowing that ‘brilliance’ takes time, effort and determination and life is about having fun and being the best they can possibly be.
Thank you for making my first Year at Lambrook such a special one. I have loved every moment and eagerly await another exciting year. I wish you a fabulous summer holiday and very much look forward to seeing you all in September.
