I really cannot believe that the end of the academic year is only 5 working days away. For two reasons, really. The first being that it still feels very much like early spring, with showery weather and temperatures sending us all scuttling towards our thermostats. Not seasonal at all… Secondly, it feels like only yesterday that I opened those front doors to the building and welcomed all the children in to their new year group at the start of the year. It has been a wonderful term and I look forward to celebrating many of the children’s achievements at our Prize Day next week.

In our penultimate week, we have been entertained with amazing dance moves as The Big Dance Show took over the auditorium. The ballerinas and tap dancers delighted us with their broad smiles and glittering costumes and the boy street dancers brought the house down with their super cool dance moves as they rocked it out to “Grease Lightning”! Just brilliant!

Later in the day, the children in the Pre Prep pedalled and pushed their way around the Astro turf to raise funds in our annual MacMillan Mile Challenge. There were some very red-faced, out-of-puff little children at the end of it, but great fun was had by all.

Later that evening, many of our Pre Prep children turned up to support older friends or siblings as they performed in Lambrook’s Got Talent. It was a wonderful evening of entertainment and I was so proud of some of our old Pre Preppers who have blossomed into amazing performers. Well done to everyone.

Just this afternoon I have been lucky enough to watch the youngest of our Lambrook swimmers in the Nursery, who demonstrated their amazing fish-like qualities to their VERY proud parents. This is the first year that we have introduced swimming to the Nursery timetable throughout the year. I was amazed by all the children, not just for their impressive swimming, but also for their confidence and courage in the water. They have come on so much since their first dip and I can see some real potential coming up through the ranks. Great job, Nursery!

I hope to see many of you tonight at the Year Two play, where I am sure we will be entertained on a grand scale. As I type this, the children are (hopefully) resting well in preparation to give the performance of a lifetime. I am very excited to watch them.

Equally, I hope to see many of you at the Lambrook Summer Ball tomorrow night, where (if the early visuals of the decorations are anything to go by) we are in for something pretty special!
