The Lions of Windsor 2019 is a public art sculpture trail, which will see over 60 individually decorated, life-sized lion sculptures displayed across the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead from August until October this year.
Their display will mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria, whilst also raising funds for local charities including the Thames Hospice, Dystonia Society and the Lions Club of Windsor.
As well as the large lion sculptures, there will also be a mini-pride of smaller lion cubs which schools and charities will be able to decorate and then display, and we are delighted to have the opportunity of creating our own ‘Lambrook Lion Cub’ as part of the trail. We are extremely grateful to some of our parents who have enabled this project to happen.
Year 3 have been working hard designing and decorating our Lion Cub along the Lambrook ‘Feathers to Fly’ theme, and have used spray paints and stencils in our Lambrook colours. Our Lambrook Community were able to view the Lion Cub in our recent Art Exhibition and soon the Lambrook Lion cub will be relocated to Windsor Town Centre, outside Johnson’s Shoes (near Waitrose), so do go and say hello to him over the summer.
