This week has seen the start of virtual swimming galas at Lambrook.

Not to be deterred by not being able to host visiting schools in our swimming pool, our swim squads have been competing virtually against Prep Schools Crosfields, Bishopsgate and St Johns Beaumont. Pupils have been swimming the events under normal race rules and have had one chance only to get a time in each of their respective disciplines – Lambrook has taken it extremely seriously, with some entrants being disqualified from certain races for false starts and not finishing correctly, as they would in ‘live’ galas!

“It was really good being able to swim fast and To be timed. We also did 3 cheers for the other teams at the end!” Year 4 Pupil

The pupils really enjoyed being able to swim competitively and were especially fast, as they were cheered on by Mr Perry. We have started with a small number of swimmers, but hope to expand this further over the coming weeks and ultimately, set up a league where many more schools can join in.
