Pupils can start at Lambrook at any stage depending on space available, however the most usual points of entry are Nursery, Reception and Year 3.
We ask all families to register their child with us as soon as possible, but registration does not guarantee a place at the school. Although we have no formal assessment for children in our Nursery and Pre Prep, we do meet with all families interested in joining us, to ensure that we are the best fit for their needs. Reception children are visited by an Early Years teacher within their current nursery setting prior to their entry into the Pre Prep and children hoping to join in Year 1 or Year 2 will be invited into the Pre Prep for a taster morning.
There is a formal assessment day for entrance to our Prep School, which takes place up to a year before prospective entry. During the day, we assess each child against a number of criteria that we believe are important to enable them to flourish at Lambrook. These include: academic ability, wider interests, character and general behaviour.
After assessment, the school may offer a place verbally and in writing. Parents are asked to sign an acceptance form and to pay a deposit of £1,000 (refundable at the end of the child’s time at Lambrook) to secure the place.
If there is not a space available, then the child will be placed on a waiting list.
To register your child, please visit our registration page and complete our online form.
