We are immensely proud of our sporting heritage at Lambrook. Our facilities are second-to-none and include all-weather surface cricket, football, netball and hockey pitches, a well-equipped sports hall, a 25 metre indoor swimming pool, squash and tennis courts, dance studio, a nine-hole golf course and cricket squares of unsurpassed quality. Against the backdrop of our breath-taking grounds, our experienced coaches understand how to nurture talent and they ensure that all children have the opportunity to play a diverse range of sports whether at a competitive or non-competitive level.
Sport is very much part of the curriculum at Nursery and Pre Prep level and pupils are able to try a wide-range of sports. At Prep level, pupils take part in football, rugby, hockey, athletics, netball and cricket. Cricket and football are now both compulsory for our girls and we have had some fantastic success in these disciplines. Pupils also have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of other sports such as golf, lacrosse, trampolining, badminton, squash, tennis, swimming, basketball and skiing.
Games are timetabled during the week and children are encouraged to represent Lambrook at a competitive level, with some playing at regional, national, and international levels; we are proud of Lambrook’s reputation on the sporting circuit, not just in the results attained, but also in how the game is played by our pupils; we encourage our children to recognise that behaviour, attitude and sportsmanship are all far more important than aptitude.
